Records Request
The Records Unit is responsible for responding to Open Records Requests in accordance with the Georgia Open Records Act O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70.
Open Records Requests can be made in person*, by fax, email, or via postal mail to the following:

*Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, except on county holidays.
Requested documents are 10¢ per page plus the hourly salary of the lowest-paid qualified personnel that could pull the information after the first 45 minutes.
Incident & Accident Report Requests
The Records Unit is responsible for the processing, retention, and storage of incident reports and accident reports. Incident reports, as well as accident reports, are generally made available for dissemination to the public and other authorized individuals within 3 to 5 business days from the date the incident or accident was filed. All reports may be obtained either in person, fax, mail, or email.

Accident Reports: $5 per report/per copy (No charge for those individuals involved) or

Background Checks: $10 cash ( additional $4 for debit/credit payments)

Payment Options
Sheriff’s Service Fees are costs which are required to be paid in advance. These costs may be tendered by Cash, Money Order, Credit Cards (Visa/Mastercard) or Certified Bank Check. Checks drawn of the business accounts of a legal practice are also acceptable. Personal Checks are not accepted.
All checks should be made payable to the Rockdale County Sheriff.
